Anybody have a MacPherson Hunting kilt?
I've been considering the MacPherson Hunting tartan in a USAK casual. Does anyone have pics of a kilt done up in this tartan. Can you post a pic? I've seen pictures of swatches, but haven't seen a really good picture of someone wearing the tartan.

Here's a couple of links to pics of me in my USAK semitrad, in Hunting MacPherson:

Wonderful kilt and tartan. My only wish is that came with a kilt selvage instead of fringe on the bottom, but that's a small thing.
Best regards,
Jake

I keep forgetting how neat that tartan really is.

I'm not a huge fan of the MacPherson hunting, but being a MacPherson, I'll probably buy one, eventually. I have other tartans higher on my wish list, though.

I have to say I prefer the McPherson Red too - somehow the hunting is too red for hunting...

So, I guess the red is out of the question for hunting!

Depends on what you're hunting-- most animals do not have colour sensitive sight; they tend to see everything in shades of grey, just like a B&W tv picture.

Red is not a bad color for hunting. Just look at all the blaze orange hunting clothes that are sold. I just don't find it to be all that attractive a tartan.

Wonder why they bothered with hunting tartans to begin with!
Well if they are colour blind I guess any tartan could be worn. It would be interesting to know more about hunting tartans and why they were so designated.
