    Red face Kilts in Church

I have been wearing my kilt to church for about three years. I very seldom wear pants. Well, tonight's event was a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for a women's retreat. I had been asked to help set up the room for sunday morning service after the dinner, so I wore pants. It is really amazing to go from comments such as "don't bend over" (this from our ex pastor, to I didn't recognoze you in pants. Our new pastor saw the pants and said, Now there is a new look. I've never seen you in pants.. Several members of the congregation notice I wasn't wearing the kilt. Over the last 3 years, I have made an immpression on these people and never realized it. The power of the Kilt is Awesome.

I have been wearing a kilt to church for a few years myself. The aren't you cold question has not been asked one time this winter so either the kilt is no big deal any more or no one notices any more.

I wear a kilt to church every week, as does five other regular worshipers. Not an unusual event here.

Yeti wears his to church on occasion, it still gets noticed, but no more than "who's that guy with string?" "Is he new?"

I wear a kilt every week. Surprisingly I still get people who only just noticed.

I have had a similar reaction elsewhere from people who knew me as a man in a kilt, and then saw me in pants.

Haven't worn mine to church yet, though in truth my old one isn't worth for much, & I'm in the queue right now for a Matt Newsome handsewn

But having said that once I get my Newsome kilt I do intend to wear it from time to time to church, however when I do wear it to my highschool ministry (I'm one of the youth leaders) I may need to bring along a shillelagh to smack a couple of the lads I volunteer with (you'd have to know them)

On the same topic, my mother told me she was assisting my aunt at her (Lutheran) church on New Years Eve, and both the music director & another gentleman were wearing kilts(!!)
    Cool!

I wear the kilt full time, so naturally I wear it to church. No problem. I also wear the kilt when I help out in the kitchen, or help out in the dinning room, or take out the trash, ot vacuum up afterwards.

Why not get a pair of tartan trews? Then you can have the best of both worlds.

I go to church kilted on Christmas (the priest isn't too hot on the idea). I always get lots of questions from the Romanian immigrants. There is one guy how does a lot of SCA stuff, and he complemented me on my choice of "a contemporary sporran" (I was wearing a leather Nightstalker).
