Kilted at the Oyster Feed
Saturday night is local FOP's oyster feed. Yes, I'm wearing the tartan. Lots of drunk cops. Last time we went, I was kilted and it snowed. I really hope there is no snow in the forecast. Must take my own beer, as they only serve Coors Light. Oysters, Ham, shrimp, Pit Beef. Ahhhh the land of pleasant living.

Slow barbecued roast, dry-rubbed, no sauce and sliced as thin as you can.

Thank you for the explanation. It sounds like something that would make lovely sandwiches.
Cheers

It is a favorite in the Baltimore area. On summer weekends, you can smell the barbecue pits everywhere. Come on out and try some. there is no better eating anywhere. I will probably take a lot of heat for that statement, but it is true. Pit Beef and Blue Crabs, Hon. Welcome to Bawmer. B'lieve
Cooking class this evening at the local Italian Deli, owned by a German. Crab Cakes, Coddies, and Fish and chips. I think I gained at least 10 lbs. Not have to worry about kilt falling down.

Oysters. I LOVE oysters. I don't eat them nearly as much as I would like as they never fill me up and cost too much.
Raw, halfshell, and a dash of tabasco and it slides right down.

Wish I could be there with you. The food sounds great. I have a question about the quote I pasted from your original post. Wasn't that a tag line from a beer commercial back in the 70s? If so, do you remember which beer?I first thought of Hamm's beer, but that was the "Land of Sky Blue Waters".

Tag line from the original National Bohemian ads. Natty Bo is back in Bawmer, too. They are even using the original building that the brewery was in when they closed down.

Thanks, that question was like a song which gets stuck in your head. I'll have to try the new National; Bo if I get up your way. They did the same with Richbrau beer in Richmond. It's now a microbrew and is pretty good from what I've been told.

We had a good time at the feed. Lots of good food. Pit ham, beef and turkey. Raw oysters and patted (fried) oysters. Roast beef for sandwiches, salads for vegans, sausage and peppers, Sauerkraut with apples and Macaroni and cheese. I only got the question once. but there were a lot of favorable comments. One guy asked where he could get a kilt. One of the wqives asked where she could get a kilt for her husbands birthday. So, we had fun.
