Arizona Kilt Night
Well, I've been back in Seattle for about a week now, but finally enough time to upload a couple pictures. Better late than never, and all that.
So the Sunday I was there, I headed down to the Auld Dubliner to meet with whatever Xmarkers may show.
As soon as I walked in, I was bathed in the music from the "traditional Irish Session" that apparently occures every Sunday. I didn't get photos of the group, but I'd estimate there were seven or eight different musicians, with fiddle, pipe, whistle and even a full sized harp. I don't know if the same group plays every weekend, but it was an impressively rehearsed sound. One could almost imagine they were in Ireland.
I almost walked past Beertigger. In fact, if it hadn't been for my need to quench my "turrible thurst," I might not have seen him at all, lurking at the bar. He was there with his thoroughly charming wife, Maria.
A few minutes later, I had the pleasure of meeting O'Neill, and his daughter Livia. (I don't know if I've spelled that correctly, but the young lady was quite clear that her name WASN'T "Olivia.")
The music, while quite enjoyable wasn't terribly condusive to conversation, so we moved further out in the bar to a couple of tables, where I met O'Neill's father (who's name escapes me).
We had a pint or three before ordering food. Perhaps it was the music, perhaps it was the conversation, perhaps it was the Guiness, but it was one of the best boxty dishes I'd ever had.
A couple photos:

The same, but with the addition of Maria and Livia.
We come together on this board because of a single common interest - Kilts. But when I meet Xmarkers in person, it never ceases to amaze me how many other things we tend to have in common.
If you find yourself in Tucson, you need to meet these men and share a few pints.
Gents, (plus Maria and Livia, of course!) thanks for a grand evening!

...was my girl, Samantha, made your boxty, sir.
She's getting married on St. Patrick's day in Vegas (of course, I'll be there) in a Scottish type wedding...you know, kilts and all the trimmings. AND she's a first class chef. She just recently quit out there at the Dubliner to become an animal control officer.

Great pics, when I finally make the drive down to Tuscon i'll have to make sure to give a shout out first. Looks like you had a nice warm welcome, which is great. I definitely agree that I tend to have quite a bit with all the kilt wearers that i meet aside from the kilt wearing.
Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a good night with good company.
