My husband and I are hoping to make it. I've never been, but have always wanted to go. Some friends of ours will be playing there (the band Spriggan), so it would be nice to see them as well.

One of the big things I miss about leaving DFW is the N TX Irish Festival. I volunteered a couple of years and had a great time. That was pre-kilt days but saw some great representation - especially a perfectly 'pleated to the cammo' kilt.
It's bound to be a great time.

I'll be there the whole weekend, and I'll be kilted... and playing the bagpipe... Muahaha! Let me know when you guys are planning to make it. Last year was fantastic, and the musical selection can't be beat.
See you in a week!

NTIF is this weekend! I've seen mention on a few other threads that folks are going... anyone else going? I'm hoping to go Saturday. I'll be getting there a little late, but I'm hoping to catch Spriggan in time. I'll stop by the Scottish Dancers tent at some point as well
That's me in my avatar. Since I haven't met any of you yet, I don't know what most of you look like or how we might say hi. I'm half-tempted to wear my hair down since it's knee-length and can stand out easily. Christopher might wear his kilt (a Black Stewart SWK), but it just depends on how he's feeling, if we're running a bit late, or if he's not happy with the way it went together (he's still understandably picky about wearing his kilt because the accessories are not perfect yet).
Have fun, everyone!

I'll be there on Sunday! Supposedly there's open workshops for instruments so I'll probably be carting around my mandolin and penny whistle. I'll be in my green box-pleat kilt probably, maybe even in my jacket conversion I just finished, if the weather cooperates.

Yeah, I might check out the fiddle workshop. I'm not going to bring my fiddle, though. I haven't touched it for easily 6 months because it and the bow have been giving me fits (haven't had the budget to look into better stuff). Needless to say, I'm sick of looking at the case and having it taunt me. Still, I figured it couldn't hurt to see what the workshop is like.
Have fun!

I just found out there's something else happening in Fair Park on Saturday from 1-4:30. Since we'll be getting a late start, I don't know if traffic and parking will be bad. We might actually go Sunday instead. I'll still get to see some of the bands I wanted to see, but I'll have to miss the fiddle workshop (d'oh). I'm talking to Christopher to see which day he'd prefer, but so far we both seem to be considering Sunday instead.
