New Newsome box-pleat AND new dress sporran

Ok, finally got my Newsome box-pleat in Perthshire District tartan, 16 oz Locharron, and all I have to say is "WOW!!!!!" I can't tell you how pleased I am with it! It is much lighter than anticipated, but oooooooh so comfortable! I'm sure we've all read reviews of Matt's kilts before so I won't bore you with the details. On to the pics (I just got off work so I kept the shirt I was wearing, hence the blue shirt).

As a side note, this is also the debut of my new dress sporran that I got for a steal on ebay. I'm equally pleased with the workmanship on the sporran.

    And the pleats.

Looks very nice on you! Don't apologize about the shirt. I think blue works well with that tartan. It helps to pull out the light blue lines. I even like the sweater vest, though I'd advise that the sporran is too formal for the rest of the look. Though I understand you are just wearing it to show off your new toys!

I think a simple leather sporran would work very well with a casual, sweater vest sort of look. In fact, I wear my sweater vests with kilts frequently!

I have to agree with you, Matt. A good sweater vest can really finish off a kilt. Plus, I think it can give it a little "dressier" look.

I would echo what Matt said, as I thought the same thing about the wearing of the blue shirt when I first saw it & read your comment. It's a good look

I agree with Matt, the blue shirt works well with that tartan, accents the blue, that would have been unnoticed otherwise.
