    Neat book find.

Yesterday when I stopped in at my favorite used book store (I don't see paying for new, if I can help it) I found "Old Irish & Highland Dress" by H. F. McClintock. Mycopy was published in 1950 and I got it for $2.00

It's a really good book for those interested in the history of how the real old-timers dressed.

I don't know if it's the same edition but Amazon has a used copy of that title for £125.00!

    £125.00!

Can't be the same book. I don't have that kind of luck. I will, however do some more intense research later on today.

That £125.00 book, must be a signed first edition or something. I wonder if the author is still alive? That might have something to do with it.

    I wouldn't be surprised James.
I'm a collector of books about the Hessians in the Rev War (amongst other interests) and at our local used book shop I scored a first edition copy of Ewalds Jäger Journal for $20. I had to suppress my giddiness as I walked up to the counter so the book dealer didn't get suspicious (said book in new condition, as this one is, easily goes for $250 to $300).
It's amazing what jewels can be found at used book shops

I should mention that mine is a 1960's English translation. I didn't want to confuse anybody who might think it was an 18th century original
