I just ordered 2 SWKs a few hours ago. A black stewart thrifty and a black economy.
Sorry I can't offer any information about the standards, as I know nothing more than what I have heard from others.
edit: I'm a little disappointed. It's been 3 hours and it isn't here yet.

Congratulations. I have a SWK standard Nightstalker. It isn't bad, though, I do not compare the material to wool or PV when I think of it's pluses. It kind of has a soft, smooth feel that some sweaters have. I suggest that you gentally hand wash it to avoid fuzzing. Also, if you have a chain strap for your sporran, DO NOT!!! use it with the acrylic kilts.
Hope you enjoy your new kilt, and wish you many more.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Congrats on the new kilt, but wouldn't you want to heat people's comments before you order the kilt?

I currently have two SWK standards(MacLaren and Black Watch) and just ordered a Black Stewart and Irish National. My first two are out for alteration and when the next two arrive(probably tomorrow) I'll send them out for hemming also. The length is about 1.5-2" too long for me. I really love the standards. They fit well, hang well, and swish ok. I got them for wearing at school on my Friday kilted days. For the price they are great and are well constructed. I'll let others speak for SWK, but you can't go wrong by them for product and service.

I think you will be happy with a SWK as your first, or even your 7th. Jerry offers great service and cost effective products!

For the price the standard is a nice kilt. And no one beats Jerry's service.
I find the acrylic too light but many actually like that they are light.
Just stay away from flames though.

Personally, I own two SWK standards. I will never buy another. The weave is too loose. It snags like crazy and I have four cats, so although they are extremely well made for the price and very nice looking, I can't do them. Another problem is that they don't react well to vomit... My son threw up all over my MacKenzie, and it essentially ruined the front apron. The material has been bunching up into fuzzy little balls ever since. So if you don't have cats or kids that puke on them, they're killer! And has been stated- NO ONE beats Jerry for service. Rocky at USAK certainly rivals him and really came through for in a pinch (with time to spare even! Thanks Rocky!) but no one beats Jerry.
And just FYI- I also have a Black Stewart standard, and aside from the kitty cat problem, I love the thing. You will be very happy with it.
