Nightstalker variations
Apologies if this has been mentioned here before - I didn't find anything when I searched for this subject, which is the apparent variation in people's SWK Nightstalker tartans. Am I the only one who has noticed how there seem to be slight variations in the tartan from one Nightstalker to another?
Here are three examples...
First, one of the pics that Roan shared here (it really suits you btw, Roan!):

Secondly one that cnovack offered for sale on Xmarks not so long ago:

...and my own:

I used a PSP plugin to help make an electronic 'swatch' of my own Nightstalker, it looks like this:

Ok, allowances have to be made for different cameras and lighting, etc, but there's definitely some noticeable differences there imo. As I wanted a predominantly black kilt for my first, was it a fluke that I got one with a subdued tartan or am I missing something here?
Thanks!

My SWK standard Nightstalker (the only swk standard i own) looks just like yours, quite subdued, and almost a solid black unless you take a good look.
here's a pic of my wearing it to a patriots game this last year at Gillette stadium

Hmmm, so the dark ones are more prevalent than I thought. Now if I can pull off the smart/casual way others wear theirs I'll be a happy bunny

I had noticed that myself. I was just assuming it was because of the camera and possibly the way the acrylic and/or dye reacts to a flash (as was widely discussed when frugal corner introduced their version of Isle of Skye)
So since we have confirmed the existence of dark nightstalkers, can anyone confirm that these brighter ones are not just illusions?
I have been wanting stillwater to make a nightstalker thrifty or economy since I first saw the thing, seeing as I love it but could never wear a standard without destroying it with sweat. But if they have lightened it I might just change my mind.

Hmm, the model shown on the SWK website appears to be "dark"

How about it, Roan, is just a matter of flash photography?
Best regards,
Jake
