New Harris Tweed jacket and Vest Review

When I turned 50 last September the family wanted to do something nice. I said I would like a custom made Harris Tweed kilt jacket and vest. They were very kind and a number chipped in.

I e-mailed Matt Newsome. Matt was very helpful, as ever.

I decided I wanted a jacket without the frills of an Argyle, more everyday looking. At the time there were around a dozen tweeds to choose from. The number has risen exponentially. I chose TW10.

    (See the new choices: http://kilts.albanach.org/tweeds.html)

Having a jacket made for you is like waiting for a hand-sewn kilt. It takes a while, but it is worth it.

    This is what came.

I am more than pleased with the outcome. I already have a black Argyle and wanted something casual but smart for teaching. (I wore it today for St. Paddy's.) The quality is superior. The fit perfect

I like the more modern style. I like the three button design. I have always loved Harris Tweed. Just to prove the quality:

All in all, a great purchase. Thanks Matt for excellent customer service.

Whoa! Is that ever one SHARP looking turn out!

I've had two made-to-measure Argylls, since I'm not an off-the-rack size so know a little bit about how great you must feel.

    Andy,

Those are wonderful. What a very generous gift from your family, I'm sure you will treasure them and the thought behind them for many years to come.
