Here comes a new Carolina Box-pleat!
I had a nice visit with Matt at the Tartan Museum this afternoon. Picked up my Carolina tartan fabric and a new Lochcarron weathered red tie.
Tonight I'm packing for a quick trip out to coastal South Carolina (taking MadBagpiper to MacClellan Pipes Co. to order his new pipes!), but I couldn't resist starting on my new 4-yard box-pleat.
Will mine be the first kilt made from the recent run of Carolina?
Will Tattoo Bradley's head burst when he sees that mine is underway while his fabric sits neatly wrapped on the bolt?
Will Matt Newsome go insane making eight kilts in the same not-so-subtle tartan?
Will Mrs. Tartan Hiker kill her adoring husband because he insists on practicing the highland snare while taking breaks from sewing?
Stay tuned for the answers to these and other important questions.
Here's one bit of gossip. Matt was working on a kilt while I was at the Museum this afternoon. I have no idea what the tartan was (and forgot to ask in all the excitement!), but it did have a lot of RED in it.

I wonder where I fit in in the Carolina Caper, I know it's somewhere behind Brad, but I'm not sure where, in case it helps I do have a twin, the jury is still out on which one of us is evil.

That looks like it's going to be a great kilt. That tartan is very , ahem, subtle.
Keep us informed

Hello,
I bet there isn't a one of us that doesn't get a nice shiver when we see the start of a project.
