Gadget!!!!!!!!
Ok, so most everyone around here knows what aside from the siren's call of the tartan, and my foreward love for tattoos and body art, I'm a gadget junkie. If there's something that can make my life easier, more compact, more exciting, more sleek, more together... well you get the picture, I MUST have it.
I'm an avid Blackberry user. I'm an iPod lover. I have the touch with built in WiFi. I've come to the point where I must have access to my favorite mediums, wirelessly. I'll never be one of those types, though I admire their tenacity, who live off-the-land (though ironically, Walden is one of my all time favorite novels!)
Well, I've discovered something new today. Something that could feed this other love I have in a wireless form. Reading. I love to read. I'm a fan of fiction works, particularly Stephen King (I've posted elsewhere about this.) Amazon has released what they're calling the Amazon Kindle. Oh....
Make sure you watch the videos, and REALLY understand what this thing does, is, and means! Man, I've gotta have one of these babies... BAD!
Hopeless,
Bradley

Young man this is the epitome of lazy ....
I think I want one I could “read” while driving to & from work. With my work schedule this could come in handy. Thanks for showing it to me.

NO! It's not lazy!! Lazy is buying an audio book and letting someone with a soothing British accent do the work for you! "Ham, you ever considered doing that as a side job? lol"
I see your tongue in cheek though, Dirk. Now I've gotta convince the Mrs. how badly I need this. lol.

Hmmm. I've always enjoyed reading aloud and being read to by others. Books on Tape (oh...showing my age) on CD are the best thing when no one esle is around to read aloud to me. Sometimes having the author read--like Sidney Poitier--is a real treat.

I just noticed this on the website
Note that Kindles cannot currently be sold or shipped to customers living outside of the U.S.
So should I just order it and send it to you Brad?

I'm a book lover, and I'm concerned I might not like the tactile experience of the Kindle. I read about it a couple of months ago and was intrigued, but until the price comes down significantly, I don't think I'll consider it.
One benefit is that you can get brand new books for a LOT less than the hard copy price.

Personally, I prefer good old fashioned paper, or books on tape/CD.
