Kilted in Paris, France
Hello from Paris
I'm new here. I wore my first kilt in 1995 for an Eve Party. Hired in Paris in shop for the theater and cinema. My kilt was a real one made in Glasgow in 1956. I was amazed by the year. The first feeling was strange but also great. Fot this event I had the PC jacket and all the stuff.
recently I decided to have mine. I chose a Brittany tartan (Bro Kerne) because I'm Breton by my mother. So the kilt is a taylor made (8 yards in 13 oz) and if the pattern is breton, it's made in Scotland.
I more casual with t-shirt and sneakers as Converse. And pictures coming soon. For the French who would like to buy a kilt, it does exist only one shop in Paris :

Hello and welcome from Houston, Texas. I hope you like it here as I do. There are a lot of X-Markers who can give valuable advice and recommendations on where to purchase quality accessories, if you need them.

Thank you all ! Thanks for your advice. I already saw in the Internet webstore like : Scotweb, Kinloch Anderson, 21st Century Kilts, Kilt2 etc.. And of course, I read the "Kilts and Tartan made easy" by Dr Nicholas J. Fiddes.
A traditional kilt is great ! But the new way to wear it is too. By exemple the sporran is a little bit classical in its shape. It could be interesting to have new propositions by the designers or fashion house (Ralph Lauren, Hermès, Marc Jacobs etc etc ).
Thank you again for your welcoming post and advice.
