I'm in deep trouble....
I "forgot" to tell the wife I bought a SWK standard weathered Mackenzie, It'll be here very very soon. What excuse should I use? "Honest, sweetheart, it followed me home from school"
I'm stuck, anyone else with something to say to keep me out of the dog house, or am I sleeping on the couch for the next month?

You won it/someone was giving it away but had to pay for shipping yourself? (Adds a bit of credibility, lol)

Tell her tomorrow that you are ordering one. When it arrives stash it for a few days and then unveil it.

Your very sorry you got caught by the siren call as you perused the site and you will make it up to her by taking her out for a night of her favorite activities, and/or do her part of the house work for a bit.... Worked for me.

Try this:
"It's been on back order so long, I'd forgotten that I ordered and hadn't cancelled it! It really is very nice! If it's OK with you, I'll keep it since I'd have to eat the shipping both ways if I return it???!!!"

At least it will make a nice blanket for you on the sofa...

I like this one. especially if you show that return shipping is over 10% of the cost of the kilt.

Just be honest.. a kilt is worth sleeping on the couch in my opinion. You'll still have the kilt long after your "sentence" is over ;)
