Style threads Question
Some time ago I started three "Style Threads", they were stickied and later moved to their own section (along with show us you Box Pleats thread).
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/a...ement.php?f=98
Their purpose was to be a visual reference for our forum to show off our various ideas about "Casual", "Dressy", and "formal" outfits.
I asked in each one that people refrain from comment and that these each post contain a photo illustrating the type of outfit.
With one thing and another people have forgotten this and posted comments, questions, as such. Some photos are no longer visible.
The question is should we go through these style threads and actually delete all the posts that aren't showing a picture of the poster and their outfit?
It would mean some work on our end, and t would mean that our system would automatically send many of you message that posts of yours had been deleted.
Before even considering undertaking this l wanted to see what the reaction of our membership is.
Please vote in this poll.
Cheers

Honestly I think that they should be in original intent in that they show different ideas of that particular style. Although the responses can also be informative in critiquing something or pointing out something that really pulls the look together that might otherwise be missed. I voted to being pruned. Would it be possible to have seperate galleries one with posted pics and comment and one with pics only?

Another option might be to recreate these albums in the New Gallery. Thus one would have the option of viewing comments or not at one's discretion.

I like the idea of having the Style Threads as envisioned, if people want critiques of an outfit or kilt, etc. there are places to put those threads.

If there is a way in the new gallery as a viewer to bypass the comments and stick to the photos while viewing the gallery that would be ideal. Some of the critiquing comments are very helpful, especially to a "beginner" kilt wearer, but over all the comments in my opinion seem to bog down the thread. Can the new thread be stickied to accept only posts that contain a photo so as to limit the amount of comments and stick to the original intent of the thread? If people want comments they can post their photos in another thread as well.

Oh, and while you're at it, why not prune out all the comments on the Kilt Do's and Don'ts thread as well. All 165 (and counting) pages of it.

I like the comments. I don't think anything is broken, so why fix it?

I voted for them to be pruned. I agreed with the original intent of being a photo-only thread. The comments, questions, etc. clutter it up and get

Way back in olden days wasn't there a gallery for each kiltmaker? I'd like to see that for kiltmakers who make solid kilts.
I'd like tartan kilts to be under the letter of their tartan...Macdonald tartans under M.
Reason, much easier to find a tartan pic when looking. I've spent hours searching this site and the net to find pics of some tartans...that may have been right under my nose.
Cameron tartans under C, Gunn tartans under G, X Marks tartans under X, etc.
Thanks for considering that...or I guess we could "just do it" that way ourselves eh?
