Another Reason to Celebrate Tartan Day!!!
On April 4, 2008 George W Bush signed a proclamation making Tartan Day a National Holiday. This makes National Tartan a National Holiday Observance on every April 6th, similar to Flag Day, thus placing National Tartan Day on the official United States of America calendar.
See http://www.pr-inside.com/proclamatio...ay-r520985.htm for the full text.
Let's really celebrate tomorrow.

I will celebrate by wearing one of my tartan kilts tomorrow then. I'll be going into town to shop, so that will work out well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

It's nice to hear that Tartan Day is now an "official" holiday, though most of us have been celebrating it for a while.

On Flag Day, we fly flags.
On Tartan Day, now we can fly plaids.

Fly Plaids
On Tartan Day I will be in tartan kilt. But I don't think a call to Jerry would get a fly plaid here in time... Oh Well. Next year a matching fly plaid to go with my kilt. Yes. More Kilt accessories, more kilts.....feed the addiction.

OT: April 6
Another holiday to celebrate on April 6th is the repeal of the nefarious 18th Amendment and the Volstead Act, otherwise known as Prohibition. This year is the "diamond jubilee", 75 years...
As Burns said...Freedom and whisky gang together...tak aff your dram!!
Apologies for the OT -- now I'm off to tak my dram!

Oops... I don't drink. I'll have to celebrate the un-doing of the 18th Amendment by wearing my tarten kilt. I would have been doing that anyway, so no one will know...
