Scarborough Faire 2008 - Who's going?
http://www.scarboroughrenfest.com/
April 19 & 20: Highland Games
Cheer amateur contestants on to feats of incredible strength and skill in the annual Scarborough Highland Games competition. Don’t miss the Texas Caber Championship
Who's going?
I believe the Scottish Country Dancers actually have a booth (tent) set up over by the jousting area for this one weekend...as always, stop by and say hello!

Are you going to Scarborough fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Thanks for getting that song stuck in my head...
There are 10 kinds of people in the world...
Those that understand binary, and those that don't.

Haha!
I sing that, too, in my head all darn day, when I am there.
If anyone that I don't know is going to be there - I shall be the lass in bright, MacWalMart blue plaid.
I shan't even dignify it with the term 'tartan'.
I am also leaning towards going Sunday - so if you want to avoid me all together, go on Saturday!

whoops my bad.
We will be at the Clan McPherson tent (no SCD tent), around the other clan tents near the Highland games area.

The missus and I went this past weekend to attend a wedding on Saturday. I wore my Kathy Lare Ross Hunting. The groom and all the groomsmen were kilted (more or less, one guy had what looked like a tartan mini skirt). The piper who did the Rough Riders game last Friday provided the music during the reception.
I'd never been to Scarborough Faire before. We took in the attractions after the wedding and had a great time. We told the kids we'd go back and take them.

You are friends with the king of Scarborough?
I shall be there on Sunday this weekend. Look for me in the parade. Brandon? Will you be joining us?

I'll be there this coming Sunday though I probably won't be kilted. Girlfriend has pointed out that I go in kilt to every renaissance faire despite us having many other costume parts so that I should try out a NEW outfit this time! Hrrmph! And on Highland Games weekend no less!!

Heh. I'd probably still go ahead and wear the kilt, Ron
We can't make this one, sorry Rowdy!! We just got back from Missouri (family emergency), and Christopher has a lot of stuff to catch up on this weekend. Darnit I really wanted to make this weekend! *grumble grumble*

The key word in this statement: probably.
That doesn't mean no.
So...I think you should wear the kilt, explaining that it's Highland Games weekend and the kilt supports that.
If she says, "Wear something else," wear the kilt anyway!
'Cuz you told us all you'd probably not wear it, and while probably leans toward not wearing it in this case, it's a democracy and I think there are many more votes for wearing the kilt than not wearing the kilt
