    Holidays in France

So we made it safely back to our home in the Alps.
It was our first holidays since five years.
Our little Louise wanted to see "the ocean and... castles".

We then decided to go to Brittany and visit my old friend Jean Baron (an immense bombarde player and veuze piper).

After a five hour drive, we stopped in Versailles. Famous for it's palace....
Few know it is also a place where one can find hundreds of bagpipes in the shape of paintings, scuptures, ceramics, porcelaines, bas reliefs, etc.

One "Xman" on the spot, no doubt !

It was fantastic to be there and be able to talk about ancient things... My family came to France centuries ago...

    Bagpipes everywhere !

This would make a great full mask !

3 sets of bagpipes on one wall ! Can you see them ?

Then you jump in a boat and you head for an amazing place: Marie Antoinette's own little farm ! "le Hameau".

Glad you had a good time and made it safely back.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

But not before visiting Jacques Cartier's monument !

Jean was quietly preparing oysters for us ...

So we sat down , sipped some wine. And Lady Chrystel let someone else take photos for a change !
