Too much flirting!
Last night in clase we were working on "Strathcare" and I was dancing with this marvelous lady. My partner is one of the best dancers in class and someone for quite a while I was a bit hesitant to ask her to dance because of it even though she is really nice person. (For the record she is also a very pretty lady.) Anyway I am now comfortable enough as an intermediate dancer to try and focus on eye contact instead of simply worrying about footwork.
So we are doing the Gypsy Turn and I am confidently staring into her eyes with a bit of a flirtatious manner and she is looking back into mine...
...and I sort of forgot to go into the reel and just kept circling!
Our teacher halted class and made a point of illustrating the need to not focus on flirting with one's partner to the exclusion of all else!
Of course when our set danced Starthcare the goal became who could be the most flirtatious in the Gypsy Turn!
