    How to size a sportskilt

I'm thinking about getting a sports kilt - they're the only ones I can find with Smith tartan and I want one for this summer- but am uncertain about the sizing. Do people normally wear them on the true waist (navel) or jeans waist (like pants)?

I'm wearing my Sport kilt at the pants waist. Mainly because I ordered it short, but also because their medium-long is actually longer then the length from my navel to my knee. I 'think' most people wear it this way, but I'm not too sure.

After looking at the gallery they have I think most wear them at their jeans waist.

"If I only had a waist".

I have a sportkilt, it has overlapping velcro. Since I have no waist I just suck my gut in, attached the velcro, then let it back out. Then I adjust vertically to suit with respect to my knees.

For Christmas this year, please God, let me have a waist!

I wear mine where I wear my pants, as they're for wearing down there.

But beware of the air, which can mess up your hair, and might make the kilt flare while going down stairs, reducing flair of wearing it, and besides would scare others by showing a sight you'd rather not share, and might lead you to despair. So to prepare for that, it's best to err on the side of caution, mein herr.

Perhaps you should stay home in your favourite chair and eat some pear while reading Voltaire, or play solitaire, or answer a magazine questionnaire, and not risk the air catching you unaware.

But I declare that I forswear any liability for following this advice (which some might call an unfair scare). Now I must repair to a house of prayer, though it might seem unfair to leave you standing there while at me you glare.

I wear mine low for no reason other than the fact that it is too short.

Thanks all. I was a bit surprised when I saw how short they are and wondered where most people wore them.

Mine usually end up somewhere between my pants waist and kilt waist.
And if your waist measurement is right at the line between sizes, I'd recommend going with the smaller size. I went with the larger size on my first one, and while it was wearable, it was slightly too large.
I ended up giving it to my brother who is also slightly too large so things worked out well.

FYI they have elastic in the waistband so it's usually best to order slightly smaller if you like to wear yours at a tight fit. I wear a size 34 pants, and I ordered the 34 kilt from them, and it's too loose. Even when I wear it at my naval. It's not so lose that it falls off, but it's not snug like I like to wear my kilts.
