Who does and doesn't call it a skirt.
When wearing a kilt out and about the town you're going to get comments. It's just a matter of when it happens. Typically all the comments I have received are good.
Then there's a group who just has to ask you about your skirt. The last time this happened to me I was in lowes waiting for the girlfriend near the bathrooms (which happens to be right next to the break room). An employee gives me a weird look as he walks past me to the break room and once he;s in there he yells to everyone "hey did you see that guy in the skirt?".
Of all the times I've heard it, it was never a woman making the skirt comment. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes I have. I think its how men try to preserve their masculinity. For a lot of people who they are = what they wear. if they wear cool clothes they are cool ...

Yeah, too many guys are too worried about what they wear and all that, which I think makes them less manly. I mean it's ok to want to look good to impress the ladies, but don't be so worried about what people think that you don't dress and act the way you want to. Thats why I hate when people try to conform so much and then criticize you when you don't, even though everyone tells you all your life to "be your own person."

This moron was probibly just trying to show his macho to his co-workers,however there were most likely workers in the room that knew it was a kilt, and so it only made him look the fool he was.
Forget him and his stupid remark.

Let's face it - a man who wears a kilt has no personal doubts about his own sexuality. He knows he's a man, and doesn't have to prove it. He just doesn't care what other people think.

I was about to say that.
I took my kids to Petco to get a fish a couple days ago, and I was approached by one of the ladies working there. I was in my SWK saffron. She told me that one of the other girls saw me come in and said to her that there was a man in skirt in the store. She wanted to confirm the claim. She also told me that she assumed right off that it was a kilt, and told the other "If I go out there and it's a guy in a kilt, I'm going to come back here and kick you." The girl who thought it was a skirt was the person who rang us out. She told me that I got her kicked.

Yeah, most people get a "kick" out of me wearing a kilt, too!
.
