Kilted on Maui
Just a quick update. Been touring the island with my little brother as guide. Went up Iao Canyon (where these pics were shot), drove the Hana Highway with he 617 hairpin turns each way. Hit the ocean at Red Sands Beach near Hana. Did a Luau last night at the Hyatt in Kannapali. Went up to over 10,000 feet to the top of Haleakala today and included upcountry Makawao and Ulupalakua. Somewhere along the line we shopped out at Lahaina and Kehei.
Other than when up the mountain it remains hot and humid...sticky...not a lot of fun for an old fat man used to the dry canyonlands. Not a lot of pics of myself since I'm driving the camera. Anyway, don't pay the ransom, I've escaped. Here's a couple pics to prove it.
Yeah, I know....still messing with the focus part.
Did lunch yesterday at the Dog & Duck tavern in Kihei. A very small and very Irish sports bar that serves good food and apparently has entertainment some nights. Marjorie had the sheperds pie and said it was great. I had the 1/2 pound cheese burger...just what I need....anyway it was pretty good for a bar burger. They even asked how I wanted it cooked.

Ron
Did they actually cook it the way you asked them too?
Some places ask and then cook it however they feel like cooking it.
