In the UK: The Harpenden Highland Gathering is nigh!
OK fellas, just ten days now to The Harpenden Highland Gathering in Hertfordshire - that's the one just to the north of London! It is being held on Sunday 13th July and is within easy reach of Greater London and, indeed, the Southern half of England.
Many X Markers will be there. Apart from Jim and myself (driving up from Surrey), the following have announced that they will be attending: Alex (flying down from Hawick), Martin (driving over from Warwickshire) and Derek (driving across from Cambridgeshire).
Others who have expressed an interest in being there are: Trefor (from South Wales), Une with David Freelander's two children (from Hampshire), Alan (from NE England) and Tom (from Dorset) - I do hope you will all be able to make that special effort.
There are many X Markers (and other kilties) living within reach of Harpenden, so come and join us for a fun day out in scintilating, tartan-tinted company.
Here is a link to the event:

So act now and save yourself some bawbees on the admission price at the gate.
Take care,
Ham.

Perfectly understandable, Jock. Aye, I'm sure we will enjoy ourselves - as long as the weather stays fine.
By the way, did you get any rain yet? Night after night, the BBC TV weather map shows little but blue (rain) right where you are, and I keep thinking of your comments about lack of rain.
May all your catches be record ones.
Take care,
Ham.

After the six weeks of drought, not unusual in the May/June period,we not only have lots of rain but, well, lots of salmon too.It could well be a record season for us-------but we must not count our chickens etc.,etc..I look foreward to a "Hamish in depth report" of the Harpenden event in the near future.

For those of you that, like myself can't attend here are a few shots I took last year. They also serve to whet the appetite for those that will be attending

My program is here too!
By the way, the 5-day forecast on the BBC website is currently predicting 68 degrees and sunny for Sunday, so fingers crossed !!

Good news about the forecast Martin, so fingers are crossed as it will be miserable if it is pouring with rain.
With regard to a meet-up point, I suggest we aim for the same area as before at about 11.30am: on the slight rise to the south of the main arena (that's on the left as you approach from the main entrance), and a little beyond the Main Stage. Here, in fact:
(Apologies for the poor quality of the photo)
Travel safely folks.
Take care,
Ham.

I should be there in good time for that Ham, I'm supposed to be collecting Alex from Luton airport at around 9.30 but he's not replied to my PM.
Alex, if you're there please get in touch.
