OK, this is inspired by another thread. I haven't seen this one discussed in it's own thread in the 8 months or so that I've been here, and I was asked twice tonight, so here's my topic for the evening:

What is your favorite response to people asking "What's the occasion?" or "Why are you wearing a kilt today?" You know, those silly kinds of things!

One of my favorite responses to "what's the occasion" is "I woke up this morning and still had the ability o convert oxygen into carbon monoxide." That leaves 'em thinking long enough for me to make an escape.

I had someone ask me if I was gearing up for St Patrick's Day a week early, to which I responded "St Patty's day only comes once a year, but I'm Celtic the other 364."

And in all truth, the Colorado Irish Festival kicked off tonight, so there will most likely be a few more kilts on the streets of Denver this weekend than usual.

What about the rest of you? Does it get a snappy-witted response or is it not worth the trouble?
