Looking for a shirt
I would like to find a shirt styled like a Jacobite shirt, but not so bulky. I do not care for the look of the mass of material. Or is this there a maker of a Jacobite shirt that is trimmed down?

Nate,
Try shirts from various reenacting sutlers or get a pattern for an American drop sleeve. I have two made from muslin and they're quite comfy.

Had them made. You can get the pattern from Smoke & Fire or James Townsend. Need links?

Townsend is in Pierceton, IN, and S&F is in Waterville, OH. Townsend has restricted hours, so call ahead if you plan to drive out. They've always beenVERY good with speed & accuracy in shipping.
S&F are nice people and the shop is fun, if crowded.

Hi, not really meaning to plug our own stuff, (cloaksanddaggers.ca) but we do a great men's shirt. My hubby wears one with his kilt and his belted plaid and I think it looks pretty darn good.He always gripes that the shirts are too short (of course, he's 6'5") to stay where they are supposed to, so, we make'em a little longer than the typical patterns out there. You might want to keep in mind adding a bit of extra length if youa re making your own. That, and, we've found that a linen blend is nice and cool and doesn't wrinkle up quite so much!
