I'm looking for a specific manufacturer

Good Evening, Gentlemen,

I'm hoping someone can help: I was following links the other night and happened across a US Kilt manufacturer that made kilts that appeared to be generally equivalent to a Utilikilt (in cotton duck, I believe) but they also had a box-pleat line (I believe their nicer box-pleats were going for about $180 or so).

Unfortunately, I also (somehow) completely failed to bookmark the site, and cannot seem to find it.

Anyone out there have any idea of where I was, and how to get me back there?

Actually, unless they have added new materials to the line up, alphakilts are polycotton. I love mine, though I have no other contemporaries to compare it to, so I couldn't say how they stack up against the competition.

Thanks for the info: I've got a couple of messages in to them with questions about the waist closures and measurements, and maybe you can answer if you have a few.

What type of waist closure do they have? Is is something that has a bit of give in it, or is it the Utilikilt-style snap closure that only fits a half an inch on either side of the stated measurement.

And

Do they want the waist measurement at the navel like everyone else does, or do they ride on the hips the way some of the more modern kilts do.

And (one last one),

How much ironing do you have to do? Polycotton shouldn't be too bad (not like 100% cotton would be), but do you have to iron after every washing the way I do with my Amerikilts?

Since Alphakilts are made to measure you can get then more or less traditionally styled per your preference. The waist is snap closure, similar to UK but with fewer snaps. The aprons are sprt of complicated - lots of pleats in the underapron. Alpha gives personal service and offer lifetime size adjustments. I have one Alpha and 3 UKs. Overall I like my Mockers best as they are just simpler in the apron design.

You can wear mine just below the naval or at the hips, but I prefer higher, and I think that's what they had in mind. I'm sure you can get it either way.

It has five snaps (two on the right, two on the left, one 1/3 of the way down the apron.

I haven't had to wash or iron mine, though I should probably do both in the not so distant future. For the most part you can just tug the pleats and they will straighten out.

Hadn't had a chance to come back on and thank everyone for their info. I have an Argyle inbound.

It seems I'm spending more and more time waiting for a kilt to be delivered these days....
