My project here in Belfast is researching the Irish language in contemporary Irish culture and it's applications in everyday, modern life. After talking to a lot of people and spending time at a lot of time at the gaelscoil, I've decided to really push myself in Irish. For too long, my Irish has been simply mediocre, but looking at the growing number of Irish speakers, both here and in the States, I now feel the pressure of learning the language.

I've switched to an Irish version of Windows, Firefox, and Google. Foras na Gaeilge, the Irish language group, gave me a whole bunch of free stuff, and I'll be taking 3 lessons a week instead of my old 1-a-week. It'll be tough work, but if I want to establish the first Gaeltacht in America, I've gotta step it up.

Guigh tú ádh mór orm! Wish me good luck!
