Black watch and military tartans?
I know the Black Watch is a universal tartan that anyone can wear, but what about the new RRS tartan? I have seen several on ebay for a fairly decent price and I was wondering what you all thought about such a purchase? I like the USMC tartan but would never wear as I was never a marine. I would not want to disrespect anyone in the RRS. Thanks

The RSS wears the Government Sett, otherwise known as Black Watch tartan.

There is no such a thing as a USMC tartan, the Leatherneck tartan is a commercially made tartan, that just happen to be made to 'honor the USMC'.
Same thing with a few others that were also commercially designed and made.
The key thing is though, NEVER claim to be anything you never were (a former chilean soldier, or former Marine, or former Black Watch, etc.)
