How to really stand out ..

I had no time to put my cilt on yersterday to go hillwalking. Its lashing down with rain so I take a cheap large golfing umbrella. Within two hours blue skies appear and it is beautiful for the rest of the day. Called in at a music festival in town on the way home .. 10000 people plus milling around all in shorts n t shirts .... most of whom gave strange looks to the guy in a bush hat with a golfing umbrella. If I had my cilt on instead of the umbrella I wouldn't have had a second glance. I been going to this festival for years in my cilt. I was half tempted to dump the umbrella.

Across the ocean but similar.
At my local music festival a kilt will draw a few comments.
But a collared and tucked-in shirt will prompt questions as if the wearer is of the event staff.
