Kilt shops or Celtic Shops Charlotte North Carolina Area

Wife and I are going to Charlotte North Carolina in the next couple of weeks. Any members know of kilt or Celtic shops in that immediate area. Would love to go over and see Matt in Franklin, but; just don't have the time to drive over and back.

    Thanks for any help!

There are other Scottish and Celtic stores in NC... I think there is one in Oxford, NC.. There is the "Wee Shoppe" in Highlands, NC which is very close to the STM. But the name is no exaggeration, I started to feel very Closter phobic in there. If it's still open.

Oxford's location is very eastern in NC and Franklin's location is very western.

    Daniel,

To the best of my knowledge the Wee Shoppe in Highlands, NC, is now closed. I used to live in Charlotte, and I don't know of any Highland dress suppliers there. Everything Scottish in Linville, NC, may be a wee bit closer to Charlotte than we are in Franklin, but not much so.

Near and Far Scottish is in Mint Hill, right next door to Charlotte. It is located in a "gallery" where various vendors have all sorts of things for sale. It is quite small occupying maybe a 10x10 space. No one there to talk to but the "gallery overseer". No kilts (altho the sign says to contact them for custon made kilts). Here is their web link: http://www.nearandfarscottish.net/order.html If you happen to be in the area might be worth a look. They do have a "sale" table.

If you can spare the time, go visit Matt at the Scottish Tartan Museum in Franklin.

    That's not a brick-and-mortar retail store, though.

Yeah...there's not really that much around here. Don't know why though...

There is Ri Ra's though, it's a pub/restaurant. If you go there, get the shepard's pie.
