    What a great article! I enjoyed the authors humor and within the article...

    They've got a point about the fanaticism. It is a very expensive hobby, once you add in uniform cost, reeds, and transportation. Currently, our local band only plays a few paying gigs per year, so it's almost 100% out of pocket... i would actually say 99.94%.
