    Supporting X Marks Advertisers

Got to wondering how I was doing after reading today's announcement.

Looked at the list of ten advertisers and found I done business with seven of ten of them. The other three are newer. Some of the seven I've done business with have seen a large chunk of change (for me) head their way...but only because they offer quality and service that equates to value.

That seems a common thread for X Marks advertisers.

I hope my "contributions" to them help somehow to offset the contributions they make to this board.

    Thumbs up

following Ron's example, I looked over our list of advertisers and find that I have done some business with seven of them as well. But regardless if I ordered a kilt or just a pair of flashes, big order or just a inquiry by e-mail, all of them have come through with great customer service and value. We and our vendors have a symbiotic relationship, they continue to support the X-Marks family with advertising and fine goods and services, and we support them with positive reviews and future purchases. A win-win.

Are there other places I buy stuff? Sure. I always look at our family of advertisers first, but no place can always have everything a fellow might want all the time. When I got started in this whole kilt deal, before I found XMTS, I did a lot with vendors listed on Kiltday.com, which is where I found this forum as well, and I still do some business with a couple of them from time to time.

I hope all our members consider our advertisers first when they think about a purchase.

I've only dealt with two of the advertisers (SWK and Celtic Croft), and have nothing but good things to say about them.

I'm looking to get my next kilt from from the Celtic Croft as well, a Thomas Welsh Tartan Phillabeg.

As Zardoz said,I also did business with other vendors I found at Kiltday.com,and as he, thats where I also found XMarks.
Since finding this Group of fine up standing people and its sponsors,I have not seen a need to look anywhere else to make a purchase other than its advertisers.

Had it not been for this website,I would never have even known who the fine people are that own SWK,USA,Freedom kilts, and so on.
Isn't it nice to do business with a Company where you can actually talk to the people that own it.

    (Emphasis mine.)

I have personally only done business with one of the advertisers, but that is mainly because I tend to be a DIY'er by nature and, at the moment, a lack of funds (I've been unemployed since January. )

I have found it extremely valuable to read posts by and about many of our advertisers. I have received help from reading their posts when working on my own DIY projects. And when the time and funds coincide, I will be making further purchases from them because you can actually talk with them. Personal customer service still distinguishes them from the vast majority of service related businesses out there.

I am in complete agreement with both of you.

Our sponsors here have all proven to be stand up business that offer quality service and quality goods. When I need something they are who I look to first. There are times when they don't have just the right thing I am looking for, but in honesty those times are few and far between.

There is also this fun feeling when someone asks me about a particular item of my highland dress and I can tell them about the people I got it from. One of my fellow SCD classmates once commented to me something along the lines of "everything you wear has a cool story behind it! I just buy stuff"

    Cheers

Just started wearing kilts (as a civie)

I looked at the list of advertisers and have purchased all my kilts (3) PC jacket, shoes.

Great products and service from all of them.

    Keep up the good work!

I've looked over the full list, and bookmarked them all, and have found that I have done business with five of them. Having a list like this is a good thing, especially with the jones always staring me in the face. I would say that the best thing about these good folks, besides great product quality, is the outstanding service and support I have seen.

Oh, that reminds me.. I need some stuff..

I know what you mean Ron. I'm real selective with who I deal with.

The Scottish Tartans Museum has had most of my business.

I made the mistake early on - thinking I could chase down a "better deal" on my own - when you take into account customer service, item quality, shipping, and the like - our little community offers tremendous value for money.

Thanks for the reminder Brother Ron.
