    Kilted with the Doctor

I was looking at the free programs offered with my on-demand cable, and came across an old Dr. Who episode with Patrick Troughten and the Jamie companion. I had forgotten that Jamie was a piper who wore a kilt.

It's nice when two things I like come together.

Jamie was played by Frazer Hines whom the Doctor encountered during a visit to Scotland during the '45 in the story The Highlanders.

His kilts were always anachronistic being the feile beagh rather than the feile mhor.

He had special conditions added to his contract regarding camera angles and additional weights were sewn in to his kilts also!

I've never watched much of Dr. Who. Is this the same Jamie that inspired the Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series?

Jamie Fraser was indeed inspired by Jamie McCrimmon!
