    Scotweb Delivers

I recently found myself in a position of having kilts with no kilt pins on their aprons. I'm a follower of the Hamish school of thought on this matter, that each kilt should have its own pin, and that pin should stay on whenever practical. So, I pulled up the Scotweb site from the advert in the upper right corner of the forum (so that I'd get the discount... starving students pinch pennies where they can), and selected two pins.

First of all, I was pleased to note that Nick apparently listened to what we had to say about delivery, because on the order form, there was listed a choice of delivery methods. I chose Royal Mail. It took about two weeks for the pins to arrive, which was fine... I was in no particular hurry, and knew Royal Mail would be slower than the courier service.

When the pins arrived, they were well protected from the rigors of international travel, wrapped in bubble wrap, and then placed in a bubble-wrap lined envelope. They're lovely pins, the both of them, but I shan't go into further detail here, as they're not produced by Scotweb, only distributed by them, and what I'm really on about here is Scotweb's service.

I think it inevitable that I shall purchase further, and likely more expensive, goods from Scotweb in the future. It was easy to deal with them, the products were well packaged, were exactly as they'd been represented on the website, and were delivered in a timely fashion.

I do wonder how much of Scotweb's business is to the diaspora, rather than to Scotland itself. Certainly, my experience with them seems to indicate it's a matter of routine for them to ship outside the UK. And is this not a wondrous time we live in, when we can, without muss, fuss, or difficulty, order things from across an ocean?

Nick and all the folks at Scotweb take two pats on the back out of petty cash. Well done you.
