    Argyll with argyll

This may be putting too fine a point on it, but is it acceptable to wear Argyll hose (which match your kilt ) with an Argyll jacket for dress occasions?

In over forty years of gadding about I don't think I have ever attended any event, short of my daughter's wedding, in which a PC was de rigueur (I just don't run with that crowd), so I opted for a dark charcoal Ettrick tweed Argyll for my dress jacket. But I sure like the dressiness of argyll socks.

It works in the desert of Eastern Washington just as well as it does in the high desert of Oregon....I have received many compliments while dressed with argylle hose and black or gray jackets. I say go for it. Due to a death in the family last night, I plan on wearing such an outfit to memorial services in Idaho on Friday so it will be fashionable in the adjoining state as well. I just wish the hose were not so expensive. Wear it well.

Judging from just that picture I think it looks fine.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I agree, it looks OK to me.

Argyle hose can look very good when worn with full day dress. I wouldn'd reccomend it with a T-shirt, but with a nice jacket and tie, it can look quite sharp.

    Glen, all,

Yeah, that does look great! I'm hoping for a nice pair of Argyll hose for Christmas.
