    An evening with the WACKOs

Last Thursday saw a great turnout of the Seattle WACKOs to greet Madalyn and me for an evening of dining, drinking, and fellowship. Nine kilt-wearing men and two kilt making women made for a tremendous welcome. Here are a few photos of the event. You'll have to provide the names to match the pictures as we were drinking. The conversations were great but all too short. My thanks to Streetcar for making the arrangements and to all the WACKOs for their gracious hospitality.

Looks like quite the rabble gathering there. Sounds like a fun evening. I can only hope someday to be gathered with as many kilties as you had there outside of a Highland Games setting.

    Jamie,

    Ya better!

Anyway, I flaked out. Didn't really feel like braving Seattle traffic with a greasy engine in the back of my car.

Looks like a good evening. The last time I was in Seattle was in the mid '80's. May be time to travel North again.

A fine array of tartans and rabble for sure!

Haven't been to Seattle since 1960 as a boy with the Sea Cadet Corps. Got really drunk on a layover. Remember hiding the empties by dropping them out of the YMCA room window into the alley below. Probably owe the City of Seattle some community service amends cleaning up something.

And hey...something new??? WalkerK, your sporran looks "normal" in front but is that an apron type tie in back...puzzling. Yearn for enlightenment. Thanks.

It was great talking with everyone, and I sincerely hope we can keep the momentum going.
Kent, it was GREAT meeting you and Madeline, and I hope to return the favor and drop in on the NorCal rabble!

You'll yearn for something else if you see one of these up close: it's a Ferguson Britt Glengyle sporran. That is the sporran belt that comes with them: see also Tattoo Bradley's badger Glengyle in his Carolina kilt pix.

Ron, you will likely approve of the newest version, whose leather cantle is 7 inches across.
