Ok, the real last games of the season!

I can't help it! Throwing is like a drug to me! I see a game I can make it to in less than a day's drive and I almost have to go. I drove 7.5 hours to Boise, ID. after work on Friday to compete on Saturday. We got out of town late and forgot about the time change, thus ending up in Boise around 3:30am. Then slept for 3 hours to get up and throw. The weather was great, the competition was fun. It was nice to meet Ryan as well. I must say he is doing well and definitly has potential. We got to discuss form and some drills. It is great to put a face to a name! I had some difficulty adjusting to the weights being used. Instead of the Heavy Gear implements, from Bobby Dodd at Mjolnir Hammers Ltd., we use throughout Washington and Oregon, at least the games my club has been to, we were using home made weights. The handles were made of an old Olympic weight bar. Not a bad idea, just a little fat to hold onto. It made the hook grip difficult to hold. Since that was all I have been practicing lately, it made the change a little tricky. The morning was a really heavy dew on some long grass, making glides and spins a little slow, but a beautiful day! My numbers were a bit shy of my goals.

    LWFD-56'+
    HWFD-25'+
    LH-78'+
    HH-66'+
    WOB-11'
BRAEMAR-28'(I am pretty sure this is close)
    OPEN STONE-34'+
    SHEAF-22'
CABER-14' 88#-12:30 (PRETTY SHORT, BUT A TURN NONE THE LESS!)

This was the first game for me where we did all 9 events. That part was great! I just wish I had a bit more sleep!!!

    re

Nice to meet you there. I didn't know you had only got 3 hours of sleep that is tough. At one time those implements had thinner handles on them but he put the thicker ones on and most of the guys we practice with (who do not hook grip) like it with the thick handles on there better. I thought it was better with the thinner handles. But I have still found a way to use hook grip on that thick handle it's just a little more difficult and I have to chalk up a lot. I think I'm about ready to jump into B class by next year. This was my last meet of this year I will post more results and some video once I can get it up.

This was the first time they put me in a group with much more advanced guys and it really helped to watch and learn some things about this.

Sounds like you done an absolutely fantastic job. I just wish I could have caught up with you at some point.
Looks like you will do even better next season!
