I finally did it. I wore my recently completed box-pleated kilt out in public.

I attended the presentation of the Eagle Scout award to a Boy Scout in my troop. I was in full Class A, Scout uniform complete with Wood Badge, neckerchief, and knee-high socks (with the exception of wearing the kilt instead of p**ts).

I talked with him before-hand about wearing it and he had no objections, although I don't think he thought that I would. I didn't want to be a distraction on HIS day.

The comments were all positive. Several of the boys present knew that I was working on making the kilt and one said, "So you finally finished it?" There was one big-wig Scouter present that I didn't know. He was decked out with lots of ribbons on his chest and around his neck and I just knew that he would have a negative comment, but he said, "Is that MacGilvrey or Stewart? I have a hard time telling tartans apart. I am a Cummings."
