Marc Jacobs gets the kilt bug

I was skimming through the Spring 2009 menswear collections, and spotted this:

The designer Marc Jacobs, taking his bow at the end of one of his shows. There were no other kilts in this collection.

To see if I could find out if there was any buzz about it, I found these comments from Mr. Jacobs, himself:

Are you having a plaid moment?
    No, just today.

You've worn kilts for your bow at both collections.
    Yeah, all month.

    Why?
I was told August was kilt month so I'm just following the rules. No. They're comfortable. It's not really a kilt. It's kind of like a short and a kilt.

Are you going to bring them back?
No, I was just recently fascinated by the whole men-in-skirts controversy of the nineties. No. I got one and I started wearing it and it made me happy, so I bought more. And now I just can't stop wearing them.

Yes, Marc, we know the feeling. But we're not sure about the skort thing.

Here he is in two other kilts, taking a bow after his women's show (I think), and escorting Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham:

    Regards,
    Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

At least he has enough sense to wear the pleats in the back. Several "media" types have worn them in front.

    Maybe he lurks here....
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I don't have the slightest idea who this guy is but he is modelling the Prince of Wales rather well!

    A "shrilt" maybe...?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
