Parent Teacher Conferences
Basalt High School had our PTC's last week and I decided to go kilted two of the three days. They issued "Official" name tags for us to wear (as if the parents did not know who we were). I was decked out in my Irish National and my new tie. I think that I made an impression as I was always busy with parents lined up to talk to me on the days I wore my kilt. Unfortunately you never get to see the parents of the kids you need to talk to, but we usually arrange for something later.
Waiting for the parents to arrive.
My new name tag.

Way cool! How did the parents react?

Looking good as usual. It's always interesting to go to back to school nite, or parent teacher conferences, but as you say the ones who would benefit the most from the meetings aren't present. Cool nametag!

A lot of them have heard that I am kilted on Friday's, but for most of them it probably was a first time seeing someone up close and kilted. Well received by all and encouraged by the Principal.

That's great to hear. It sounds like you have educated people in your education system.

That's good! That really helps pave the way when people can see the wearing of a kilt in a positive light.

The ID is great too! Its like a PASS to wear the kilt. Have you thought of wearing it more often at school? You put together a sharp look.
