For all the Burnsians -- this looks like a lot of fun and a noble cause!

Dear Sir/Madam

It would be so much appreciated if you could find just a wee minute to read on about our “Worldwide Toast to Robert Burns.”

Our web-site www.worldwidetoasttorobertburns.com has been specifically designed to co-ordinate a Worldwide Toast in honour of Burns on 25th January to celebrate his 250th Anniversary. The site will provide a hub to co-ordinate the toasts from all over the world and to make this a historic event on behalf of Burns himself!

Steve and myself here at Scottish Gemini are extremely passionate about Scotland and all things Scottish. Being born and bred a "Falkirk Bairn" I have always been humble to live in a country as beautiful as Scotland and it was only natural that we would want to celebrate this “one off” occasion and more importantly, try to give something back to Robert Burns in this special year………..but we need your help to make it work.

The idea of the Worldwide Toast was simple but we wanted to make it exciting to encourage everyone from all corners of the globe to raise a glass to Robert Burns on 25th January 2009! Thus, we decided to introduce a fun element by aiming for a Guinness World Record AttemptTM to record the largest worldwide toast in history.

It would be just great if you could help by signing up for our newsletters at www.worldwidetoasttorobertburns.com to keep up to date with our progress and to please pass on the word and ask your friends and relatives (especially overseas) to sign up too!

The stories we have to share on our journey towards 25th January are fantastic and it would be a fitting tribute to have these broadcast worldwide. For example, we have a Fort William lady who ran her own Jean Armour Club in competition with the men of the town! Lots and lots of people sharing their birth date with the Bard and the Rosslyn Chapel staff are just some of the many enthusiasts who will be part of the toast celebrations in raising a glass.

We hope that our newsletters will provide some refreshing and enjoyable reading as well as helping us on our way to the big day.

Cheers the now and kind regards.

Julie & Steve
