Compare and contrast: SWK and Fredonline

I know a ton of us (me included) have purchased from Jerry and the good folks at Stillwater Kilts. I also know some of us (not so much me, though) have ordered from Fredonline321, one of eBay's largest purveyors of kilts and kilt accessories.

Is there anyone who has both? With shipping from the UK, the Fredonline kilts are about equal in price to the old SWK economy kilts -- the midrange between thrifty and standard. Is that a fair comparison? Are they better? Worse? Are they closer to the thrifty? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

    BUMP!

Phogfan86 raises a good question. Does anyone own both a SWK and a Fredonline321 that would care to provide us with a comparison?

I own a "fred" Highland Black and 3 SWKs (1 Economy - 2 Thrifty). They are all of
equal quality & price - being as they are - acrylic. The only difference is that the
"fred" has straps - no velcro - on its "thrifty" version.

I disagree with this statement. They are not of equal quality. I received my kilt from fredonline nearly a month after I ordered it, while I was waiting for it I went ahead and ordered a standard from SWK. I received the SWK in 3 days. Weeks later, needless to say, when fred kilt arrived I was very disappointed. The leather straps are cheap and feel fake, the material is very stiff, and the accessories he included were pretty much useless. It was a waste of money when for a few more bucks I could have purchased another SWK and accessories instead. Jerry sells top notch goods for the price. You cant find a better deal. Plus your order will reach you at the speed of light! lol. Just my two cents.

I own both. SWK heavyweight, and Fredonline Deluxe. There is no comparison in terms of the material. SWK is a much stronger, heavier material. Fredonline are acrylic and light. Definitely wear a heavy kilt pin with that one. Fredonline's kilts fit better though. SWK is a little tight on the hips, so I use a buckle extender on the 2nd buckle. I usually wear Fredonline around the house or short trips out. Also, I always get annoyed by the extra long lining on the SWK. I think I will sew it down or something. Hmm... I'll post pics on that later if I do it.
