    Scotweb hose questions.

I am looking to accessorize my kilts and add some new kilt hose to the drawer. I have been looking at the Merino wool "Country Sock" Mallaig in the green and brick red diced top from Scotweb store. Some of the other hose further down the page look equally nice. The question for fellow XMTS folks is: Has anyone used that style/type. There are several others further down the page that would go well with my current collection of kilts. Any feedback/experience with the hose? Thanx in advance.

I have a couple green body and one maroon body pair, each of which have mixed green/red/mustard colored tops in a variety of patterns. They are nice solidly made hose and look good. No complaints from me.

I have that exact sock and love it. I find it goes perfect with my MacQuarrie kilt reproduction colors.

    Same hose, different kilt:

The problem you may run into is that the loden green of the hose is lighter than the typical "modern green" offered by most tartan mills, but darker than the typical "ancient green." I happen to have a few kilts with this "in-between" loden shade, though, so it works quite nicely for me.

Thanx Matt. I was hoping to see/get pix of the hose since they are limited on the Scotweb site. Super!

How does it work with MUTED or WEATHERED color schemes?

Thanx FM. I went to the web site and will look for more. The pix at the website you listed really helped. When you order off of the web it is just note the same as touching and seeing items up close and personal , but your reco helped. Thanx again to all.

Their loden green is really almost an asparagus green or olive and in my opinion does not in any way match the usual greens present in Modern tartans or Ancient tartans, but would likely work with some Hunting or Weathered tartans that still have some drab green in them. Or possibly a tartan where brown and green cross to yield a more drab green.
