in trouble
So I get my SWK kilts today, a gordon standard and a thrifty BW. (the thrifty is about half an inch too small. Which makes sense, since I was between two sizes, I ignored the advice on the site, and went smaller instead of larger. I'll find a way to make it work as I lose that half inch... anyways....)
My wife is a little irked, it took me 14 years to get around to getting my first kilt, then in 5 months I now have 4 of them... (and 1 for my son)
Something about I splurge and can't stop spending money on something once I start and I buy more clothes than she does. (Which is only true in winter, I spent a lot last winter on clothes, then she spends money on clothes in the summer.)
I don't think she wants me to order that next kilt.... um, but I do have to save for it... she knows that, I've talked about it before.... and she knew I was going to place an order right after Yule but Jerry was closed.....
I need more clips to hang these things up....

Well, you know... I personally see this as a growth opportunity for her. She can either grow to accept it, or have a psychotic break. Either way, you should have a lot of fun with it!

Jerry will probably exchange the kilt if you have not removed the basting stitches - give him a call - he is a real prince.

I know he would, but as I said, it's half an inch. I really bet I could add some more Velcro to it and make it work. I plan on using it as my 'not going outside anyways' kilt, perhaps maybe taking out the trash, but that's about it. Besides, I should be able to drop that half inch easily enough, once the xmas tree is down and I can use the room for exercising again.

Ah! Be VERY careful with the velcro closures on a kilt that is too small. I... ahem expanded... beyond the size of my thrifty. I was able to stretch it and make it fit. which was all well and good, until I took it off, and found that the velcro had pulled the fabric of the shirt I had tucked in. Shirt is pretty much ruined now. It was smooth fabric but the side is riddled with serious pulls, and looks REALLY bad. Still ok with a kilt, but with a pair of pants that wears lower on the hips, it is obvious and looks horrible.
If you get extra velcro, fine, but also get another piece to put over the part that is exposed.

I got it to replace sweat pants that kept falling down. Not concerned about a shirt with it. If I had gone larger, it'd have been half an inch too big I fear, so I am going with the lesser evil, esp. since this is my 'not going out in this one' kilt. I really can't believe how much less it weighs than the standard.
