    Riveted sporran

Here is the riveted version I was talking about. I have another on the go with rougher looking leather.

WooHoo!!!! I posted a pic all by myself (thanks to Beertigger)

    What do you think?

    Looks awesome!

Is it glued and rivited or just rivited?

Looks great, Lindy. My only suggestion would be to re-sequence the gusset and panel leathers so that the front and rear panel leather lap over the gusset. The view from the side will then eliminate a raw edge.

Great look with rivets. I'd probably round off the flap to match the sporran contours.

I like it! I like the squared-off flap, actually. It's more of an industrial look - goes well with the rivets.

The reason I have a squared-off shape on the flap is because I do a lot of glueing and folding to illiminate raw edges and keep it neat. I need a triple thickness of leather here, and making it rounded would look really messy. My very first sporran attempt had a rounded flap, and the only reason it has not been chucked in the bin is because I'm framing it for posterity when my empire takes off.

Yip Kerr, it's glued as well as riveted. With the strongest contact glue I can find that ISN'T solvent based or highly toxic. Trying to be kind to the environment and all that! (And also, my littlest one is usually running around when I'm sporran-making, so I don't want to inflict glue fumes on him).

If anyone wants to see more pics, just click on the link for my website and go to the gallery page. This sporran also has a handy internal pocket.

Thanks for all your comments, keep 'em coming!

I love it and its all yours! This sporran has a fresh design and a high level of finish to boot! I agree with Turpin - change the sequence to hide the rough edge. I also suspect that the rivets will look even better with a rougher - more textured leather.

    Keep up the good work!
