And now for something completely different...
I have never needed justification for the wearing of the kilt, but for my wife that has been a different story, until she found this information in a book she was reading- (bear with me)
The Earthchild
There is one last esoteric factor before we explore the psychological aspects of the descent. Having worked with the chakras for more than 20 years, I have become increasingly concerned by the trend to number these energy centers in ascending order starting with the base, or Muladhara, chakra. Not only does this convention dilute the rich symbolism behind a name, but it also limits the opportunity to explore the presence of any center located beneath the base chakra. Does it not seem strange that no attention is paid to the energy tracking along the legs and into the feet.?
It is now known that there are twelve major chakras, one of which is called the earthchild, or root chakra, located about eighteen inches beneath the feet. This center, known to judges, priests and some Scottish men- all of whom wear some type of robe or skirt- connects us to the powerful energy that runs within the earth and is seen as the Mother's blood flow. Similar to volcanic lava, this hot energy is accessible to all of us in order to bring about the transfomation we hope for not only for ourselves, but also for the world. Like Scottish men, we might become aware that when we wear a skirt, we can embody this energy with greater ease than when we wear trousers. In my case, my conscious awareness of connecting to this energy through my feet has increased, reminding me that I am resonating with the pulse of the Great Earth Mother.
After reading this, my wife, Terry, asked me if I already knew this. I said, "intuitively, consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously?- Yup!" Nuff said!
