    A few more pubs

Here are another three pubs that I shall visit shortly and take pics etc
The Fox and Hounds 16th Century .. originally a Welsh Longhouse

The Fox and Hounds is located in the beautiful village of Llancarfan in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan. Here you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of village life and the abundance of natural beauty that surrounds it. This former Welsh longhouse offers comfortable accommodation, exceptional food and a good choice of fine ales and wines all under one welcoming roof.
Step outside to discover the very best of this incredible area. Wales is famed for its myths and legends that speak of the mists of dragon’s breath, Arthur and Guinevere, the Lady of the Lake and more. Here in Llancarfan you will find much mystery and history to uncover. Famed for the Church of St. Cadog that was established in about AD 515, it is a very important area for discovering much about the religious history of both Wales and Great Britain.
There is of course much more to this rich landscape than elderly buildings with stories to tell. The nature in this part of Wales is rich and varied, with a countryside that is criss-crossed by scenic walks that open your eyes to an incredible array of wildlife, flora and fauna. For nature lovers, this may be paradise found.
You can join the Llancarfan Circular walk that ensures you get to see all the beautiful attractions. This walk will take you through the most interesting parts of the Vale and leave you filled with the sights, smells and sounds of nature at her finest. Some of the features you will come across during this walk include, the Church of St Cadoc, our own much loved 16 th century Fox & Hounds Public House (a focal point of village life here), White chapel, Walterston Fawr farmhouse, The Amelia Trust farm and the fascinating Iron Age Hillfort, of which it is said that Cromwell used during the British civil war to bombard Penmark castle.

The White Hart .. dating to the 12th century

Just a five minute drive from Caerleon is The White Hart Village Inn, a charming Country Pub situated in the pretty village of Llangybi in the picturesque Usk Vale - a location renowned for its Trout and Salmon fishing - is the historic White Hart Village Inn, originally dating from the 12th century.

The White Hart is a beautiful historic building that after a period of extensive renovation and restorative works re-opened in April 2007 under the new ownership and management of The Pell Family.
    .................................................. ........
A venue with real character, its rich history has seen it at one time under the ownership of Henry VIII as part of Jane Seymour's wedding dowry; a century later serving as Oliver Cromwell's headquarters in Gwent while latterly featuring in the T.S. Eliot poem 'Usk'. You can learn more about this by clicking here

The Boat Inn .. this pub is not as old as the others, bout 18th century I think, but it is situated in a most beautiful spot on the River Wye

A historic building where I live is only as old as the Apollo program. That's really neat to see truly historic buildings.
