Just bought smallpipes.
Saw the other thread on smallpipes and that just pushed me over the edge. I got a cheap set (though surprisingly well made) on ebay. Now, my problem is finding extra reeds. Any suggestions on sources closer than Scotland or Pakistan??

I'd suggest asking at the Bob Dunsire forums or at least going over for a look.

I was looking for an extra set of drone reeds. I have the cane ones but I have been looking at the more modern plastic devices wondering which ones will fit my pipes. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ezeedrone has started making really reliable drone reeds for smallpipes. Who made your smallpipes?

I don't really know who the manufacturer was other than they came from Pakistan. They are made of what is supposed to be African Blackwood and appear well made although the bag is alittle cheesy.

You might also consider looking at Chris App's website. Aside from being an on line vendor, there is a lot of interesting info there.

(Sorry for this little hijack)
Question: Is learning (and playing) the smallpipes the same as learning the standard bagpipe? That is if you can (learn)/play one, can you then (learn)/play the other?
Thanks.

I believe that to be the case as the fingering is the same on both instruments. It might take awhile to get use to the bellows however.
