Kilt spotted at the British Film Awards
I was watching the British Academy Film Awards last night when one of the winners walked up to the stage wearing a kilt. Don't know the tartan, it was a red one, but not Royal Stewart. The award was the Carl Foreman award, given to a first time director/writer/producer. He was a black gentleman named Steve McQueen. He was wearing the full PC rig. However he was wearing a belt with the outfit. I guess I will let it go this time. This was on BBC America last night between 7:00 and 9:30PM. Did anyone else see it?

I did see the awards on the BBC and Jonathan Ross seemed suitably impressed by the gentleman's outfit.

Damned fine looking he was too - although I thought he would have been better off in cream hose. Can't find still pictures of him but you can see him on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qaJQ1P_bQk
The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.

could it have been MacQueen tartan? There are three versions (the best, in my opinion being the ancient). I will try and post a pic of the tartan.

If you look at the tool box above where you are typing you will see a number of buttons the add picture button is second in from the right. Before pressing it you right click the picture you want and select 'copy image location' you then press the button and paste the loc into it. Make sure there is only 1 "http//"
Confused? You will be...

This was the first time I had ever watched these awards. I was thinking there would be more focus on British films and actors. But it seemed that Hollywood crowd found their way in. Slumdog Millionare seemed to be the big winner of the night. I'm wandering if it was because it had more of a British connection than the other movies. I'm not big on watching award shows. I just happened to see that it was on and decided to watch it in hopes of spotting a kilt and telling everyone here about it. I guess that makes me a kilt "spotter".

Yep, I think King of the Norse Gaels is correct - it looks like MacQueen. He looks great!
