    Rocky: MidWinter Festival Review?

    rocky
when the smoke clears and you've had some time to catch your breath, could you give us some highlights of the mid-winter festival this weekend? albannach, their kilts, the other bands, food, vendors and how usa kilts did on the weekend? thanks, pal.
it was just killing me that we couldn't make it down there...

We really didn't (and don't really ever) have a chance to check out the bands. We're pretty much tethered to our booth helping customers.

That being said, MOST of our customers this past weekend were Misfits! ('Misfits' are what Albannach Fans call themselves)

When the boys (Jackie didn't come) came to pick up their material, we had a discussion about the tartan and how quickly it went. We decided (with Jamsie's permission) to weave it in PV to be able to offer it to anyone wanting a Casual, Semi Trad or Mini kilt.

The response to the tartan was what I hoped. The band LOVED it and the fans seemed to really like it as well. There were a few negative comments made to the band by drunk patrons about the fact there's a lot of purple in it, but that's the way Jamsie wanted it, so that's the way I designed it.

We'll be adding the tartan to our Casual and Semi Trad galleries in the coming weeks. We ARE CURRENTLY taking pre-orders for the Albannach tartan kilts, with the understanding that it will probably be a 4 month wait (I haven't even gotten thread color samples to match the existing material).

The rest of the festival was pretty good... sorry you missed it!

The bands were great and it was a really fantastic weekend! Rocky, everytime I saw you on Saturday, your booth was swamped! I did get to talk to Kelly a bit on Sunday before we left. The Albannach tartan is absolutely beautiful.

We missed the weekend as well. Fully planned on being there, but then was hit with having to work the weekend last minute. Was really bummed out on missing but there's always next year.

Rocky have you ever done Green Lane???

WOW!! great news. I passed on the original material due to needing to conserve a bit, but still love it. Nice to know it will not be gone forever, and will have another crack at it!

How about Estes Park or Highlands Ranch? We'd love to have you here in Colorado! (I know I've asked you before, but I'm an optimist- what can I say?)

Good to meet you as well, Keith.

Nighthawk... as much as I'd love to meet you in person and travel, the fact that we MAKE our kilts pretty much teathers me to my shop or a very select few festivals in about an hour radius.
